The sauna area of the Caracalla Spa is textile-free, i.e. you sauna naked or wrapped in a towel, but without swimwear.

Infusions

for more variety

Experience the variety of our sauna infusions and let our sauna masters whisk you away into a world of relaxation. We offer different infusions and fragrance ceremonies every hour. During an infusion, the sauna master pours water with various essential oils or herbs onto hot stones and spreads the resulting steam around the room with a towel or fan. This process heats up the air in the sauna and enriches it with the steam from the water, creating an intense fragrance experience.

Sweating

for health

Sauna bathing not only has a feel-good effect, but also has many positive and healthy effects on the body and mind. Sauna bathing promotes blood circulation in the body, which can relieve muscle tension and alleviate pain. It also boosts the metabolism and accelerates stress reduction. At the same time, the immune system is strengthened, as the increased body temperature helps to kill viruses and bacteria.

The skin also benefits from a visit to the sauna: sweating removes dirt and impurities from the pores, leaving the skin looking cleansed and fresher. The hot and humid air in the sauna can also help to improve breathing and alleviate respiratory illnesses. Two to three sauna sessions in a row with cooling down and appropriate rest breaks in between are ideal.
