Answers to frequently asked questions to the Caracalla Spa

Park conveniently in our pool garage with 250 parking spaces and direct access to all CARASANA Bäderbetriebe GmbH facilities. The pool garage is open daily from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm.

If you are using a navigation system, please enter the destination "Bädergarage" at "Rotenbachtalstraße 1, 76530 Baden-Baden" and follow the "Bädergarage" entrance.

By car
Freeway exit A5 Baden-Baden / B500 direction Baden-Baden-Zentrum / follow the blue Thermen signs / turn left at the traffic lights at the Festspielhaus and follow the road / after the Schlossberg tunnel turn right into Rotenbachtalstraße / the entrance to the Bädergarage is on the right-hand side.

On foot
From Leopoldsplatz (central square in Baden-Baden) follow Sophienstraße / after approx. 500 meters turn left and walk directly towards the Caracalla Spa.

By train
ICE/EC/IR trains and all other regional trains stop at Baden-Baden station. The main railway lines are Basel/Hamburg, Basel/Rhineland, Basel/Berlin and Paris/Vienna via Stuttgart and Munich, and there are regular buses from the station to the city center: Line 205 takes you directly to the Caracalla Spa, lines 201 and 216 to Leopoldsplatz.

Please enter "Bädergarage" in "Rotenbachtalstraße 1, 76530 Baden-Baden" as your destination when using the navigation system and follow the "Bädergarage" entrance. The Bädergarage is open daily from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm.

  • As a guest of our facilities, you will receive a discounted parking rate.
  • VIP-Chip-holders and ArenaVita-members park free of charge for the first three hours when using our facilities.

Please note that parking in the pool garage overnight is not permitted!

No pre-registration or online reservation is required for admission to the Caracalla Therme. Simply come by and buy an admission ticket of your choice at the cash desk by 8.30 pm.

Children may only enter the Caracalla Spa from the age of 7. Children under the age of 14 may only use the spa if accompanied by an adult. Children pay full admission.

The surcharge for the sauna area is 5 euros per person. You can book the sauna area directly when you enter the Caracalla Therme or book it on your chip during your visit to the spa.

You can indulge your taste buds during your stay in our SpaRestaurant within the bathing area. We are open daily from 9.00 am to 9.30 pm and offer a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, cakes, snacks and drinks. Our SpaBreakfast is available from 9.00 to 11.00 am. In the sauna area, you can enjoy our freshly prepared juices at the SaunaBar between sauna sessions.

Please note that it is not permitted to consume food and drinks you have brought with you!

Mobile calls, photography and filming are not permitted in the Caracalla Spa bathing area.

In the sauna area of the Caracalla Spa, you are not permitted to carry electronic devices or take photographs or films.

Out of consideration for our bathing guests, it is not permitted to take photos inside the bathing and sauna area. You are welcome to record your visit by taking a photo of yourself and your loved ones at the entrance to the Caracalla Therme.

We recommend that our guests wear bathing shoes. This is for hygiene reasons and also reduces the risk of slipping. However, bathing shoes are not permitted in the pools, saunas and attractions.

Bath towels can be rented for the duration of your stay for a fee of 6 euros.
You are welcome to purchase swimwear, bathing shoes or cosmetics in the Caracalla Shop in the foyer of the Caracalla Spa.

Swimwear must be worn at all times in the bathing area of the Caracalla Spa. Swimming is only permitted in textile swimwear (bikinis, swimming costumes, knee-length briefs, tight-fitting short- and long-sleeved swimming costumes, tight-fitting knee-length swim dresses). It is forbidden to bathe in swimwear that extends above the knees or that is not made of swimwear, such as sportswear, and to bathe in underwear, even if this is fully or partially covered by a swimming costume.

Yes, saunas in the sauna area are textile-free. You are welcome to wear a bathrobe or use an appropriately sized bath towel.

Various infusions and aroma ceremonies are offered every hour on the hour from 9.00 am. You will find an overview on the infusion board in the sauna area as well as the complete overview in our infusion schedule. Every Monday from 5.00 p.m. you can look forward to a new infusion every half hour during the sauna evening!

Hairdryers are available free of charge in the changing area.

The ThermenRestaurant and the SaunaBar offer a wide range of fresh juices, snacks and dishes. It is not permitted to bring your own food.

In principle, there is nothing wrong with visiting the Caracalla Spa during pregnancy. However, to rule out any risks, the doctor in charge should be consulted beforehand.

You will find safe deposit boxes in the changing area and at the entrance to the pool and sauna area. Larger lockers are available on the first floor for larger items, e.g. suitcases.

Our bathing and sauna area offers plenty of space and various lounging areas. To ensure that our guests always have a place to lie down, we ask that you do not reserve any loungers and instead use our numerous storage areas or towel baskets. Our staff are required to remove the bath towels from the reserved loungers.

Group admission for 10 or more people is possible with collective payment. You will receive the admission tickets on site.

We offer guests with a "B" in their ID free admission for one accompanying person.

If necessary, wheelchair users who require additional technical assistance to access the pool beyond that of their accompanying person can use a pool lift exclusively for the large indoor pool on request and with advance notification at [email protected] at least two days in advance, stating the date and time of the visit and after reconfirmation of scheduling and staffing feasibility. Please note that these conditions are mandatory in order to ensure the professional and safe operation of the pool lift.

There is a late payment fee of 1 euro per 10 minutes or part thereof. You can pay this at the post-payment machine at the exit.

You can print out our vouchers yourself around the clock in our Online Shop. Voucher cards in postcard format are available directly at the Caracalla Spa and Friedrichsbad as well as in the Caracalla Shop during regular opening hours.

Our vouchers are valid indefinitely. They can be redeemed for all CARASANA Bäderbetriebe GmbH services. You have a one-year price guarantee from the date of purchase, after which any price changes will be charged separately.

Lost and found is kept in our lost and found office. You are welcome to contact us about your lost items.

In order to find your lost property more quickly, please have the following information ready when you call or write it down in your e-mail to us:

  • Details of the place and time of loss
  • Exact description of the item (brand, material, color, clothing size, imprint, engravings, photos, etc.)
  • For mobile devices: Manufacturer, model, IMEI number of the device and/or number of the SIM card (see purchase documents)

The lost property can be collected free of charge on site. They can also be sent to you for the shipping costs (insured shipping). Please note that a handling fee of €15 incl. VAT will be charged. Collection by a third party is possible with ID and authorization.

  • Lost property is generally disposed of after the statutory retention period of 6 months has expired.
